hello! i am zoey :)

  • welcome to brainbarf!!!!

  • i started brainbarf as a way to share creativity, i have always loved creating ever since i was a little kid and always had the dream of being an artist! my first business venture as an artist was selling duct tape crafts on my school bus in 3rd grade, there the spark was ignited.... i have been sewing, sculpting, drawing, doing beadwork, journaling, and just about doing anything and everything creative that i could get my hands on since i can remember. as i got older i feared turning my art into a job would lead to burnout and me losing a passion, that's where the idea of brainbarf was born. i always felt like i had to pick one niche to market myself within, i decided to free myself from this notion and just do whatever i felt was right. each drop i create is very unplanned, just me having fun making whatever comes to mind each month and living day to day with whichever medium calls to me!! my brain's barf for all to enjoy :D

my work is inspired by the constant desire to keep whimsy alive and well !!!! as we age expectations change, enjoying cute things becomes "childish" and having joy and imagination in everything you do is looked at strangely. it's so common to become jaded with age. it's difficult to not give into that dejected cynical feeling that this world surrounds us with, but i believe that keeping joy/whimsy alive is a form of protest in a way. i hope that whoever is reading this will remain joyful and that my work can help you feel that way :)

i have struggled with chronic migraines for over a decade now, which has lead me unable to have a regular job or really live a normal life in general. being able to support myself working from home through my art has been genuinely life changing for me!!! thank you so so much for enjoying my art and bringing light into my life <3
